Growing Certus

Budding certus grows buds on every free side like amethyst: small → medium → large → cluster.

Mine a cluster with a pickaxe = 4 crystals (Fortune gives more). Unfinished buds only give 1 dust.

Tiers: flawless (forever), flawed, chipped, damaged. The lower ones sometimes lose a tier while growing (1/12) and end up as a plain certus block.

Mining without Silk Touch = one tier lower; flawless always becomes flawed.

On its own it grows slowly. A Crystal Growth Accelerator right next to it makes it ~90× faster (8 AE/t, power top/bottom – a Wooden Crank on top works too).

Every covered side is one less spot for buds – 1–2 accelerators per block are enough.

Older ways still work: Certus Quartz Ore underground and seeds (dust + sand → 2 seeds, in water they grow into crystals in ~10 minutes).
